When Mayor Brent withdrew from the State pre-selection in 2011 he was quoted on ABC radio, on 13 May 2011 as saying:  “It’s important any candidate moving forward has no cloud over them.  I am sure that I will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

In what would appear as the ultimate irony to most citizens of the Scenic Rim, Mayor John Brent, in the Tamborine Times of 2 February, when railing against the state government stated:  “Our communities are sick and tired of having unpopular decisions rammed down their throats.

The attachment is self-explanatory.  It is an official complaint against the Scenic Rim Mayor, Cr John Brent, for a breach of the Councillors’ Code of Conduct.

Recent news about the LGAQ and the SRRPA

I believe I speak for the majority of informed Scenic Rim residents when I condemn the LGAQ’s position for being the biased, devious and scurrilous manoeuvre that it is.

Council spends or plans to spend millions of dollars for which it has not budgeted (among other schemes Beaudesert library and the bypass road come to mind) but that will eventually fall to the rates payers to finance.
