In a bid to re home some their adult cats the Animal Welfare League of Qld is having a $49 dollar sale for one week only, (ending Monday the 20 February).
The AWLQ’s three shelters are full to the brim with cats and kittens and are unable to take in more strays and surrenders until their current animals are re homed.
AWLQ’s Marketing Manager Brooke Whitney says all breeds of cats from 1 year and up will be $49.
“We hope this promotion will re home lots of adult cats who have been at the shelter for far too long and deserve to be in a home with people that love them”, she says.
While the weather is warm cats are breeding and the AWLQ shelters have dozens of litters of kittens surrendered weekly.
“While there is lots of kittens to choose from our adult cats are often overlooked, we are hoping this promotion will give them an added boost in finding a new home,” Ms Whitney says.
