Judith Wright, one of Australia’s most celebrated poets, lived for many years on Tamborine Mountain.

On 21st August last year, most of The Scenic Rim became under the newly-formed federal seat of Wright, which of course was named after one of their most famous citizens.
What better place to hold a Poets’ Brunch than on the mountain which was so dear to Judith Wright’s heart and from which she drew so much inspiration for her poetry.
In association with the Studios of the Scenic Rim, now in their fourth year, there will be the second Poets’ Brunch at Clancy’s Irish Bar, 2 Main Street, North Tamborine from 10am on Sunday 1st May 2011.

Last year’s event was enjoyed by all participants.
All poets are welcome but timeslots need to be allocated, so registration is essential which can be done by emailing grealish@bigpond.net.au.
These sessions aren’t open only to poets - anyone with an interest in poetry is also very welcome. Lunches will be available to purchase at Clancy’s.
Tamborine Mountain artists’ studios will be open on both the Saturday and the Sunday of the weekend of the Poets’ Brunch, so it would be a great opportunity to include a visit to these studios as part of your Scenic Rim cultural experience.
