Three Tamborine Mountain junior sporting teams began their first practice sessions on the lower oval at the new Tamborine Mountain Sports Centre on Sunday morning.
The lower oval will be the principal practice venue for many of our junior and senior sports teams. The lower oval is due to be have lighting towers erected, possibly as part of the Second Phase of development, making a full sessions of winter training a possibility at last.
Sunday was the first experience of the oval for three teams.

Short Passing & Tackling Skills
On the lower oval junior sports training was in full swing with the Tamborine Mountain Junior Bushrats undertaking precision throwing practice under the guidance of the club’s President Michael Shutte ably assisted by Vice President Keiran Cole.

Soccer Swarms
On the soccer field two squads of very junior juniors were battling it out in a hard fought, evenly match battle. Like all starters, strategy and tactics were foregone for the swarming approach to field placements.
There were some very focussed young players who took the game almost as eagerly as their parents on the sidelines.

The squad with QRL's Kris Muir and Craig Kellot
Queensland Rugby League Education and Development officers Kris Muir and Craig Kellot took some older boys through a more rigorous training regime, showing them the correct footwork and evasion drills to get their short passing game working reliably.
