Christmas Creek road reconstruction works are now complete; Council reconstructed a 700 metre stretch of road and will finish line marking this week while road work at Kerry will get underway on Monday 21 November.
Mayor of Scenic Rim Regional Council said the roads are vital connections to a number of farming communities and provide easy access to Lamington National Park, one of the regions superb natural beauties.
“This is a truly scenic part of our region, the upgrade of these roads will ensure that the local community and visitors have access to the region’s natural resources,” Cr Brent said.
“We are committed to improving roads across the whole region, and not just in the town centres, we want to make sure all residents have access to safer roads, this is part of this year’s $13.7 million commitment to improved roads.
“Improving these roads also increase access for visitors, we hope this brings added life to regional communities and encourages visitors to marvel at our World Heritage Listed national parks.”
The 310 metre section of Kerry road is scheduled for completion in mid-March 2012 and will join the section that was completed earlier this year.
