On Friday 17 February, The Arts Centre Gold Coast will welcome an international rhythm master, Bruce Mathiske. With a dexterous finger span, he plays lead, rhythm, and bass, at the same time!
As well as his usual solo guitar virtuosity, his new ensemble, Rhythm Express, featuring percussion, ukulele, charango and double bass will take you on a thoroughly entertaining musical journey!
This entertaining night of stringed excellence includes renowned songs by composers as diverse as Sting, U2, Duke Ellington, Peter Gabriel, Muse, Robert Palmer, Deep Purple, all injected with Bruce’s personal touch.
Bruce has picked up a number of Australian awards including Best Soloist, Best Overall, Best guitarist (twice), Best Recorded Release and Best Trio. Bruce Elder, Sydney Morning Herald, said: ‘He is a master guitarist, an absolute virtuoso, the best in Australia!’
