As one of our avid fans of the Tamborine Mountain Daily Star recently pointed out - it’s been a while since the opportunity arose to update this editorial. We have been a bit busy doing more work on the site and promoting the message of online journalism.
And all of our efforts are now paying off.
When we launched in August last year, we had less than 400 visits in that first month. Today, less than 12 months later, we’ve grown by 20% per month and the Daily Star has around 12,000 visits from people checking out how things are in this extraordinarily beautiful and unique part of the world every month.
We’re thrilled by the response. Not only the local feedback, which grows daily, but the positive response from the four corners of the world. The Earth is truly a global village. Everywhere, it seems, the citizenry is insisting on fair, open and honest dealings with their elected representatives.
And more of us are focussing on the need to preserve our environment and to insist that development be sympathetic to those environments and conducive to the common good.
No matter what side of the political fence you sit on, there is no doubt that the 21st century is trying to change at a phenomenal rate, the most significant of which must surely be that everyone has the chance to have a say and everyone has the chance to promote their passion and offerings.
We are proud to be at the forefront of the changes in communications that are sweeping the world with our innovative publication that offers a permanent, ready record of the events of our community that can be read easily, anywhere in the world.
