The Centre in Beaudesert will be a hub of innovation, sustainability and networking as Council presents the Strategic Leaders Forum on Tuesday 4 October 2011.
The focus of the forum is to develop a more resilient, creative and prosperous region through collaboration and community leadership and will build on outcomes of the highly successful strategic sustainability forum held in November 2010.

Mayor of Scenic Rim Regional Council, John Brent |
Mayor of Scenic Rim Regional Council, John Brent, said Council is focussed on building a strong, sustainable and prosperous economy in the Scenic Rim.
“Council recognises there is a high level of interest, activity and leadership in the areas of local economy, community development, local business and nature conservation within our region,” Cr Brent said.
“The Strategic Leaders Forum 2011 will be a hands-on, interactive and informative way to create connections and relationships between our region's leaders so our work becomes more effective.
“The event will bring Council together with key players including local business, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, environment, Indigenous, youth, and community development organisations.
“Connecting these leaders will help to align their direction and build a collective regional vision.”
Topics discussed will include: micro-finance/community capital, business development, education, youth and the ageing, local food, community development, water and food safety, renewable energy and restoring natural capital. The forum will be facilitated by professional facilitator Sally Mackinnon from the Ethos Foundation.
In November 2010, the first Sustainability Leaders Forum was held where many key business and community leaders gathered to discuss opportunities to collaborate their work in order to maximise resources and effectiveness.
The 2011 forum will run between 9.30am and 3pm at The Centre in Beaudesert on Tuesday 4 October. To attend the forum contact Marita Tomlinson, marita.t@scenicrim.qld.gov.au or phone 5540 5281 by Wednesday 28 September.
