This month Nerida Marshall, Director of S.T.A.R.S (Screen Theatre and Writers Studio) has handpicked the guest speaker.
She is very excited to have the pleasure of presenting Ian and Luke Sparke from Sparke & Sons Films, who over the years have created one of Australia's largest military costume houses.
In the Basement of The Arts Centre Gold Coast on the 29th September, they will speak about their experiences in films such as Sisters of War, Beneath Hill 60, The Pacific, Kokoda, For Valour, The Great Raid and X-men Origins: Wolverine.
Ian and Luke Sparke and their crew have efficiently and accurately dressed and equipped huge numbers of principal actors and extras on a number of occasions. On the night they will present some of the costumes they use for the many of the highly acclaimed films they have worked on.
Ian and Luke specialise costume design, historical equipment representation and as well as general support for any project that involves the military. Their expertise in the World War 2 arena is second to none and their industriousness and creative approach to costume design sets them apart from many of their contemporaries.
Ian and Luke Sparke have the unique ability to provide a strong artistic contribution, whilst maintaining a complex production budget and tight production deadlines. They are history designers and Australia's foremost military film specialists that can deliver that edge of authenticity to any production.
