Powderfinger has teamed up with world renowned live recording team Abbey Road Live Here Now, to record their upcoming ‘Sunsets Tour’, kicking off at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on September 1, 2010.
Over 290,000 tickets have already been sold across 34 shows in 21 different cities on the colossal ‘Sunsets Tour’, resulting in a whopping 24 sold out dates so far!
With only a handful of shows around the country still having tickets available, it seems that many unlucky fans missed out on their opportunity to farewell this iconic Aussie band.
But while the sun is indeed setting, there are still a few rays of sunshine on the horizon. Powderfinger has recently released additional tickets to their sold out shows at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne (10 & 11 September) and Supreme Court Gardens, Perth (22 & 23 September).
A live recording of each show will be made available in a limited edition, superior DigiPak double-disc CD set after each performance, as well as digital download for a limited time only.
People attending the show can choose to collect a copy within ten minutes of the show concluding, or have it shipped to their home.
The final ever show on November 13, 2010 at Riverstage, Brisbane is not available to pre-order at present, details of how to purchase the last show will be announced at a later date.
Bye Powderfinger . . . we'll miss you.
