In a shopper preference survey conducted by the Tamborine Mountain Daily Star, 69% of residents said they preferred to do their essential food shopping off the mountain.

Of the respondents to the online survey 46% came from North Tamborine, 26% from Eagle Heights and 28% from Mount Tamborine.
Tamborine Mountain did remain the most popular single shopping location with 31%, followed by Helensvale (29%), Nerang (20%), Upper Coomera (13%) and Canungra with 7%.
The survey confirms that Tamborine Mountain residents look to the Coast for services rather than towards the Scenic Rim. Canungra and Beaudesert are similar distances but were largely ignored by those who took the survey.
The supermarkets on Tamborine Mountain are not highly regarded for value for money by those taking the survey, despite the survey asking for reader to take into account accessibility, availability and convenience.
More than half (57%) of our readers who took the survey said that overall, the local supermarkets did not offer value for money.
