A group of six leading Tamborine Mountain tourism operators is now working together to promote the region. The consortium’s coordinator and Discover Tamborine Mountain Visitors Map publisher Detlef Hasenbein said the group’s joint marketing efforts will reach more potential tourists.

“Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves and Tamborine Mountain Trolley Bus Tours have joined forces with Thunderbird Park, Witches Chase Cheese Company and Tamborine Mountain Distillery,” Detlef said.

“The coordinated effort will help the independently owned and operated tourism businesses to compete with the huge budgets of major corporations. By combining a large portion of individual advertising and marketing budgets we can address a wider audience more cost effectively.
We will now work with the major tourism bodies as a group,” he says.
“We are promoting the region as the ideal short-break self-drive holiday destination. The marketing efforts of the consortium are directed toward local people, drive distance markets including the Gold Coast, Logan City and Brisbane as well as interstate and overseas visitors.
We will show people how to take their leisure time to the top through multi media advertising and marketing,” he says.
Detlef says the Discover Tamborine Mountain campaign includes multiple operations as some operators have more than one business.
“The consortium is working cooperatively to offer visitors a memorable holiday experience. Thunderbird Park offers accommodation and a host of activities including Adventure Parc. Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk spans the rainforest canopy 30 metres above the ground and Cedar Creek Glow Worm Caves is unique.
“Tamborine Mountain Tours takes visitors to local places of interest and wineries. Visiting gourmets can see award-winning Witches Chase Cheese in the making, shop and try Cedar Creek Estates Wines. Tamborine Mountain Distillery shows award winning schnapps and liqueurs in a boutique setting,” he said.
Detlef said Tamborine Mountain has plenty to offer people of all ages.
“We aim to highlight the variety. This region is known for its spectacular scenery, unspoilt greenery and relaxed rural village lifestyle. Holidaymakers can enjoy these benefits along with a number of exciting manmade attractions and culinary temptations.
“Tamborine Mountain is easy to get to. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from the Gold Coast and less than hour from Brisbane. The roads are as impressive as the scenery.
"Overseas visitors can see a real Australian country town without travelling thousands of kilometres from a major city and conference planners can impress delegates with a varied, active and enjoyable team building adventure,” Detlef said.
