Red Hill Gallery is proud to present the first exhibition for 2012 featuring the artistic creativeness of four “Women of Substance” whose distinctive styles have an edgy and compelling appeal.
Individually their work is refreshingly unique; collectively their work is exciting, colourful and whimsical.
Denise Murray...is a sculptor who uses her initiative and imagination to create an honest communication through body language in her welded bronze pieces along with her well known cold cast bronze figures. Denise also paints figurative works that have a unique mystic and universal appeal in keeping with her sculptures.
Julie Hutchings...is an intuitive artist who paints with tremendous energy and expression. Selected paintings evolve from personal history while others formulate from poetry, music and stories.
Often the paintings have Meta meaning that encourage the viewer to form their own interpretation.
Danielle McManus...intertwines experiences from everyday life with her Maltese heritage to produce superbly whimsical paintings and ceramics.
Her colourful, figurative offerings provide viewers with thought-provoking images frequently set against a backdrop of Mediterranean landscapes.
Emma Sheldrake...bold, striking, spontaneous and captivating, her signature style drips with seductive intent, blending figurative art with the mischievousness of Pop Art.
Bold colour combinations, daring brush strokes, irreverent drips and enticing eyes define the power of her images to seduce the onlooker.
