The Gold Coast will experience an Australian first for the music industry with the opening of a community based music project in 2012.
The Circle Project Inc. is an incorporated association which will operate within a recording studio and production house.
It is the brainchild of Gold Coast entrepreneur and Director of Parallel Harmony Pty Ltd, Marta Fergusson and will provide cost effective music production and recording facilities to South East Queensland musicians, with expansion nationally in the future.
Located in Robina, the project will provide a range of mentoring and educational programs and musicians will be encouraged to be proactive within the local community by engaging in community based service projects run by the Circle Project Inc.
The project will also be holding regular events, showcasing local talent and big name acts from around the country.
The Circle Project Inc. will be funded predominantly through Government Funding opportunities and various corporate alliances. Mrs Fergusson said the vision behind the project is to unite musicians and community advocacy, while in turn providing a much needed service to an area lacking in resources.
“Music knows no boundaries; it speaks all languages and is often seen as a healing force. Musicians have the ability to communicate freely through their music and all Musicians should be given the proper opportunity to do this,” she said.
Equipment for the studio will be provided by Sydney based company Turramurra Music and the studio will be managed by Music Producer/Engineer, Lucas De Garis.
